Gale Hickok

“Gale Hickok is the President of First American Exchange of Skagit County and of Guardian Northwest Title and Escrow. He has worked in Skagit County in the title, escrow, and exchange business since 1969. Gale Hickok has been facilitating tax deferred exchanges since 1988 and in 2003 was awarded the CES™, Certified Exchange Specialist, designation offered through the Federation of Exchange Accommodators. Gale is the lead instructor for Education Update, providing real estate education classes to real estate agents throughout Northwest Washington.”

Katie Hickok

“Hi, I’m Katie, I’m the General Manager of Guardian Northwest Title and Escrow. I’ve worked here for 33 years and counting. I’ve spent most of my career in the Escrow Department, where I helped families close on their refinances, purchase and sales and I helped with customers’ commercial needs as well.

When I’m at home, I like spending time with my French Bulldog named Moose, and we watch all things sports. He does not enjoy it as much as I do, but he likes to sleep, so we are both entertained.”

I enjoy spending time with my local family, traveling, and spending time with my husband, riding our motorcycles on the weekends on day trips to various areas Cascade Loop, Canada, Leavenworth, etc.”

Sammi Lord

“My name is Sammi, and I am proud to call Island County my home. In 2015, we fell in love with this incredible small community, took the leap to move here, and have been happily settled ever since. I’ve been in the title and escrow business since 2016, and every step of the journey has been rewarding—I’m grateful for the chance to learn and grow every day. “My name is Kylie, and I’m proud to call Skagit Valley my lifelong home. I’ve been part of Guardian for just over two years and love being in this business, connecting with the community, and learning about the world of real estate. I’m a busy mom to four amazing children, including three teenagers who keep me on my toes with their sports and activities. Our summer weekends are filled with baseball and softball tournaments, and on fall Friday nights, you’ll find us at football games cheering on my oldest as they cheer for SWHS. When we’re not immersed in sports, we love escaping to our favorite spot, Winthrop, where we enjoy camping, hunting, and fishing together.”

“I’m Laurie Newton, originally from Hawaii, and I moved to Oak Harbor a few years before my husband’s Navy retirement. Together, we’ve raised our daughters across California, Maine, and Washington, and share a love for travel—especially cruising.

I began my career with First American Title in 2002 and later joined Guardian Northwest Title & Escrow. Over the years, I’ve worked in Posting, Examining, and now serve as a Recorder for Island County, assisting Skagit and Whatcom counties, as well as others when needed. Throughout my 23 years at GNW Title, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy a supportive and professional work environment that fosters a close-knit, family atmosphere.”
